American Translators Association (ATA) was founded with the purpose to promote the professions of interpreting and translation. There are more than 10,000 members in almost 100 countries who work as teachers, project managers, translators, software developers, translators, government officials and more. ATA has very strict policy for compliance with the antitrust laws in the United States. ATA Code for Professional Practice and Ethics

Policies in case of Violations Code of Ethics
ATA aims to promote professionals working as interpreters and translators by formulating standards of professional ethics, competence and practices that adhere by all. Therefore the code of professional conduct is very important to ATA and must be followed. Violations of the codes may lead to sanctions being imposed under these procedures. These codes & procedures are adopted in order to protect the integrity of ATA and its members.
